About Us
Don Beeler was born on a ranch in 1944 in
Baggs, Wyoming and spent his early years
working on the family ranch, was a member of
4H and active in F.F.A.
Mr. Beeler participated in Rodeo in the 1960's,
Bronc riding, Bull riding, Calf roping,
and rode as both a header and heeler in Dally
roping. During this time, as well, he ran the
Family ranch since his ailing father was unable
to do so.
He owned and operated Beeler's Big Country
Taxidermy and Processing in Rawlins,
Wyoming in the 1970's and 1980's during which
time he created over 8000 mounts including
mounts which are displayed in the Smithsonian
Institute and several other museums. He also
taught taxidermy briefly after selling Big
Country Taxidermy
Mr. Beeler started his career as a sculptor in
1995, working under Roger Russo, Lloyd
Woodbury, Deb and Fred Fellows, David Kloss,
and was advised on technique by Joe Beeler,
one of the founders of CAA- also a cousin to
Don .
Don was invited to join the New York Sculptors
society in 2007 and has been a participant in the
Loveland Sculpture Invitational.
Dons future projects include a piece featuring
Clayton Danks, First PRCA champion bronc
rider, a piece featuring Sacajawea (made
famous by her assisstance to the Lewis and
Clark expedition, as well as being featured on
the Sacajawea Dollar Coin), and is working on a
piece depicting a longhorn cattle stampede.
